Restoration of a Barn

The project regards the restoration of a rural building , a small stable of 25 square meters, built in the second half of the Nineteenth century on the pristine wooded slopes of Rocca di Cave, a small village situated in the country around Rome along the shoulder of a mountain. The project is an opportunity to explore the different possibilities of the relationship between architecture and landscape. While outside the original volume is returned through small measures designed to regularize the form in continuity with the existing masonry, inside it has been decided to build a space able to place itself in a harmonious relationship with the surrounding environment through the use of contemporary materials and methods capable of assuming the identity features of the site.
